The 'La Cholla' 6' 1 or 2 weight Ogawa Fast Glass Rod Building Kit
Based around either a 6’ 1# or 2# Ogawa s-glass fly rod blank in rich olive, this kit comes with our first in-house cast sea green Cholla insert, black downlocking reel seat hardware, a cigar grip, black snake guides, classic black stripping guide, snake guides, winding check, tip top and PacBay green NCP thread.

A little more about our Cholla insert, Cholla (pronounced Choya), is the woody skeleton of the Cholla cactus from the Sonoran Desert, Arizona, US and is at the heart of this insert. I first stabilize the cholla wood before it’s cast in a sea green mica powder coloured acrylic resin. The resin is then left in a pressure pot at 50psi for 24 hours to cure and is then turned on a lathe using traditional woodworking tools, once turned the insert then has seven coats of an acrylic finish applied before finally being polished from 1500 grit down to 12000 with a final buff to complete the creation.
