Fortitude Rod Co is a specialist UK supplier of rod blanks, components and rod building supplies for amateur and professional builders.

From fly rod blanks, guides and reel seats to cork, thread, adhesives, tools and finishing products to complete build kits, we carefully select components that we would be happy to use on our own rods. We also produce handcrafted cork grips and reel seat inserts in our own workshop, giving builders access to components that are a little different from the mass-produced alternatives.

More than simply supplying components, we build and fish rods ourselves. That practical experience means we're always happy to offer advice on component selection, compatibility and getting the most from your next build.

Fly Rod Blanks

At the heart of every great fly rod is the blank. Our own Fortitude Rod Co and Taniwha Rodworks ranges have been developed to give rod builders a carefully considered choice of actions, materials and line weights for everything from delicate small stream and river fishing to stillwater and saltwater applications.

The Fortitude Rod Co carbon blank range includes our N-Tech X, Homewaters and Union Elite Nymphing models along with our very popular FRC Ogawa fiberglass selection, Taniwha Rodworks which we purchased in 2024 from Mark Williams offers a premium range of carbon and fiberglass models in a wide range of length and line weights, with the TNHX carbon and the TSH S-Glass blanks some of the best we've built on and receive great feedback from the many that build with these blanks!

Whether you prefer the crisp, responsive feel of modern carbon or the smoother, more progressive action of fibreglass, both ranges have been selected and developed with one purpose in mind: providing the right foundation for building an exceptional fly rod.
