Stent For Fibreglass Rods
The nature of fibreglass rods means they are constructed with thicker butt sections, what this means for the rod builder is the need to use a larger reel seat insert that can be bored out to fit the bigger butt
If you prefer to use smaller hardware in keeping with the length of rod a stent would need to be fitted, a straightforward job by removing the same length as the reel seat from the lower butt section of the blank and epoxying in the stent, this would protrude the same as the length of butt removed, allowing a smaller diameter reel seat to be fitted.
Stents will be included with the 7’ and 7’6” blanks as standard
